Peter Pan Pirates

Shine Performing Arts Studio in Plano is holding auditions on March 16th for their production of Peter Pan. Auditions will be from 4-6pm at Family Life Building of Sent Church, 3701 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano. An optional $10 Director’s Workshop will be held on Monday, March 14 at 6pm. Rehersals will generally be Mondays and Wednesdays starting March 21 with the production at the historic Plaza Arts Center in Downtown Carrollton May 19th-21st. All the Texas Sports Authority stores are closing. I walked through the one in West Plano today. Full-priced items are 10% off. Anything that was on sale (clearance, winter items) is 20-40% off, so there are some good deals to be had. There was still plenty there including exercise equipment, bikes and shoes.

Hollywood Feed opened their seventeenth Texas store this month at 4817 Park Boulevard (Park/Preston), Plano. They offer natural and holistic pet food, treats and products (and have very knowledgeable staff members) and will be holding regular pet adoption events featuring local rescue groups. The DFW Harm Reduction Coalition helps families with drug addition problems. They offer free supplies (like Narcan, an opiate antidote) to reverse drug overdoses as well as addiction treatment references. “We know several moms whose children have passed away due to a drug overdose. The 8th annual Prom Closet at St. Andrew United Methodist Church (1401 Mira Vista, Plano) is open Thursday March 3rd from 4-8pm and Saturday, March 5th from 9am-noon.
