Dallas Roars! is happening at the Dallas Zoo Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm through May 22nd. There are games, music and costumes plus a DJ, bounce houses, conversation stations, face painting, obstacle courses, caricatures and more. Entertainment included with admission (some cost $5).

McCall Plaza opened in Downtown Plano earlier this month. a new stage will offer a platform for performances ranging from live music to dance.

Find your super power this summer with ‘Texas’ Favorite Camp’ for 2014 and 2015. The 22nd season of Kidventure Day Camp is boldly taking the summer by storm, conquering the mundane, and defeating the ordinary. Summer Quest 2016 is a Comic Book come to life. Each week provides your little superheroes with a new and unique adventure. The Plano Police Department is holding a Drug Take Back event on Saturday, April 30th from 10am-2pm at Clark High School and all three Plano Senior High Schools. Tablets, capsules and all other solid dosage forms of unwanted medication will be accepted. Personal information may be blacked out on prescription bottles or medications may be emptied from the bottles into the bins provided at the event.

The recent storms did significant damage to Allen Community Outreach and the ceilings have collapsed. If you can help out donate to their Raise The Roof fund. They need $50,000.

  • Performance Indoor Training+ has acquired the 40-acre Dynamic Sports Park at 4401 14th St, Plano. The 40-acre sports complex will be renamed PIT+ Outdoor and will give sports leagues, youth groups and families more than 25 fields, an air-conditioned clubhouse and training programs through Peter Luccin Academy. The staff of Dynamic Sports Park will remain the same, but the facilities, concession stands and equipment will be upgraded for players and visitors. The founders of PIT+ plan to host a grand opening celebration on May 14, which is open to the public.
  • Taziki’s fast-casual Greek restaurant will open in August/September timeframe and Grub Burger Bar (Grub = Good People, Real Food, Unique Vibe, Big Flavors) will open in June, both at Village 121, a retail area currently under construction at SH 121 between Parkwood Boulevard and Preston Road.
