The Harrington Library recently became part of the Family Place Libraries national network. As a Family Place Library there is a specially-designed children’s area where families with young children can relax, play, share books and meet other families. The library also hosts a five-week series of parent-child workshops to encourage fun, play-based activities for toddlers, parents and caregivers. Workshops include opportunities to visit one-on-one with specialists in aspects of child development and early literacy to ask questions and get tips and advice. Learn more here.

Congratulations to Officer Art Parker Jr. (aka OP) for being named the 2015 Plano Police Department “Officer of the Year.” OP began his career with the Plano Police Department in 1985 and has been a School Resource Officer since 1990. He is awesome with kids and we are all fortunate to have him in Plano!

Beware of the new “emergency clinics” popping up around town. They are NOT the same as urgent care and it might cost you a ton. Check this news story for details and read this Facebook thread for more stories from moms.
