Cottonwood Arts Festival

A juried art show plus live music, food, and a children’s area – Children of all ages will have the opportunity to create a sculpture hat from scrap, design a masterpiece in plaster, add to an enormous collage, or practice their hand at sculpting clay on a real potter’s wheel. Free.

AsiaFest
Haggard Park, 901 East 15th St, Plano

Celebrating its 12th anniversary, AsiaFest 2015 will showcase the rich cultures of Asia: Japan and Korea in the north; China, Taiwan, and the Philippines to the east; Vietnam and Malaysia in the south; and Bangladesh, India, and Nepal in the southeast. The numerous cultural demonstrations, performances, and vendors will provide a fun and engaging time for your entire family. Free.

Super Science: Float My Boat

Build a boat made of foil and then test it by seeing how many pennies it can hold before it sinks. Free All Ages

Up, Up & Away! Festival of Flight
Prestwick STEM Academy, 3101 Stonefield, The Colony
Saturday 3-8pm
The Colony Parks and Recreation Department and The Tribute Lakeside Resort & Golf Community join together to bring you this fun festival. All ages will experience a visual feast at this inaugural event! Air Show, Kite Flying (free kites while supplies last plus kites for sale), stunt kite demonstrations, crafts, Blackland Prairie raptor exhibit, face painting, trampolines, music, demonostrations and more.

A courtroom has never been more lively and fun than in The Big Bad Musical! This smart and wickedly funny musical is great for actors and audiences of any age. The jury — your audience — must decide the outcome of the biggest trial ever in the fairy-tale world! The notorious Big Bad Wolf is being slapped with a class-action lawsuit by storybooks of quirky characters who want to get even: Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmother, the Three Little Pigs and the Shepherd in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf.
