Stars on the Prairie
Lewsiville Lake Environmental Learning Center

Join us for a fascinating evening as we view the wonders of the night sky from LLELA’s prairie restoration. Constellations both familiar and unusual, satellites, and sometimes planets and the moon are features of the everchanging night sky. If they sky is cloudy, we will have a night hike. Registration is required.

Into The Woods
January 6th – 10th
Genesis Theater, Plano
One of the greatest musicals of all time! Student rush discounted show on January 6th. The story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. One of Sondheim’s most popular works, Into The Woods is a musically sophisticated show with the opportunity to feature actors adept at dark comedy. Designers will especially enjoy highlighting the fantastical elements of this magical word.

Beauty and the Beast Jr.
January 7th – 10th

Featuring songs from the Academy-Award winning animated movie. When Maurice becomes lost in the woods on the way to the fair, he seeks shelter in an old castle, but the master of the castle is a horrible beast that takes him captive. Maurice’s daughter, Belle, must then give up her freedom to save his life. Belle’s taming of the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince is a beloved fairy tale about very different people finding strength in one another and learning how to love.

SPARK! Family Day
SPARK!, Dallas

Join us for Family Day at SPARK! Enjoy creative fun for the whole family and explore our 6,000-foot Climb, Crawl, Slide Sculpture. Open to families with children in 2nd grade through high school. No drop-offs. Sponsored by The M.R. and Evelyn Hudson Foundation. Tickets are $8 in advance, through 5pm on January 8. $10 at the door.

Zip Line Day
Saturday, January 9th 1-4pm
Heard Museum, McKinney
Soar through the treetops of the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary as you travel down the Ropes Course’s zip line! Purchase one ticket for each time you would like to go down the zip line. $12 per person. Cinderella Kids

Frisco Discovery Center
Poor Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and denied a chance to go to the royal ball. With a little help from her mice friends, and a lot of help from her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella’s dreams come true. She goes to the ball, meets the Prince, and falls in love!

Hotcake Hustle
Saturday, January 16th
Addison Circle
Start the new year off healthy by walking or running this year’s Hotcake Hustle, the first event in the Run Project’s racing season. The indoor/outdoor venue is perfect for visiting our sponsors who provided samples & information, plus food, and coffee. Like many of our runs, the Hotcake Hustle features music and a beer garden. Runners and walkers can opt for the 5K or choose a tougher challenge and run the 10K. Kids will have a ball in the fun run, accompanied along the route by the famous & energetic Run Project Chicken. Of course, everyone gets a hotcake breakfast after the race provided by the Original Pancake House.

All of your favorite characters—Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch—meet and interact in this whimsical original story. A musical revue of favorite traditional and contemporary theater songs. This cabaret style show features well known numbers that are popular favorites. Come enjoy this salute to show tunes for an evening of memorable entertainment.

Owl Prowl

We are combining our Campfire and Night Hike into one special event and searching for owls! Winter is prime nesting time for owls, and we might just hear them hooting it up in the forests of LLELA. Do not worry about the chill. We will warm up by the fire before and after the hike. Ages 5 and up. Registration is required.

Curious George: The Golden Meatball
