And don’t forget! The Dallas Zoo is offering $5 admission for Penguin Days through February 28th and the Dallas Arboretum is also $5 admission through January 31st.
Martin Luther King Day Parades
Saturday at 10am
Dallas – starts on the eastside of City Hall Plaza at Ervay and Canton. The parade/march will start at 10:00am and will proceed south on Ervay, east on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd (inside Fair Park), south on Second Avenue and Finish between Grand and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
Carrollton – starts on Jamestown Street (behind Carrollton City Hall) and proceed west to Josey Lane; south on Josey Lane to Keller Springs; east on Keller Springs to Kelly Boulevard; south on Kelly Boulevard to end at Ted Polk Middle School (2001 Kelly Boulevard).

Mochitsuki New Year’s Celebration
Fujitsu Network Communications, 2801 Telecom Parkway, Richardson

Join in the fun at the Japanese-American Society of DFW’s 15th annual Mochitsuki New Year’s Celebration. Bring the family and enjoy the festival atmosphere. Highlights include performances by Cherry Blossom Chorus, Yosakoi dancers and more. Watch rice being pounded for mochi (rice cakes), a treat you can sample with various toppings. There will also be cultural activities, displays, and traditional games for children. $5 for members, $10 non-members, $2 children (age 6 – 12 yrs).
