Looking for some hands-on fun with your kids? The Sci-Tech Discovery Museum in Frisco is a great place to check out. The museum isn’t big or flashy, but once you dig in and get involved you’ll find the exhibits not only provide fun for your kids…but they teach them stuff too!
There is a large main exhibit area with lots of interactive toys, games and displays (plan on reading and remembering science basics) plus a traveling exhibit in the back. Be ready to jump in and help them work through the various areas.
Make a giant bubble:
Build something with the foam blocks. My big kid loves to have the other kids build a fort around him so he can break out in a dramatic way.
Learn about trajectories and magnets. Learn how the human body works and more.
You never know what they might pull out to try. Here’s my big kid trying to control the ball with his mind. Last time we were there they had kinetic sand, which is sort of creepy!
This isn’t a great place for crawlers or kids who are not steady walkers as the floor is concrete and except the giant blocks the exhibits are not geared towards them. Preschoolers and elementary-aged kids will have a blast here.
They also host birthday parties, field trips, free storytimes, summer camps, and other preschool programs that require registration and an entrance fee. Check their website for details, costs and membership information.
