The Nutcracker Dallas
November 25 – December 4
AT&T Performing Arts Center, Dallas
A holiday tradition like no other. A ballet filled with toy soldiers, dancing snowflakes, and one very special nutcracker.

Rudolph Run
Main Street, Allen
The event begins with a non-competitive, one-mile run and concludes with the USATF-registered 5K Rudolph Run.

Elf, Jr.
December 2 – 11
Genesis Theatre
Based on the movie, Elf Jr. is the delightful story that follows Buddy the Elf as he journeys from the North Pole to New York City in search of his father.

Lantern Light
Saturday, December 3, 3-9pm
Heritage Farmstead Museum
Stroll the 4acres and amidst the glow of Lantern Light delight in wagon rides, historic demonstrations, storytelling, scrumptious treats, unique children’s crafts, and a visit with Santa Claus. Strolling Carolers, a Bell Choir and School Choirs are scheduled throughout the event in the Historic Pole Barn presenting songs of the season. Discount for advanced tickets.

Ropes Course Adventure Day
Sunday, December 4
Heard Museum, McKinney
During Adventure Days, guests will be able to participate in the Power Pole, Giant’s Ladder, and the Bessie Climbing Tree. The Bessie Climbing Tree has climbing holds attached to a 200 year old Bur Oak and is a unique climbing experience. Individuals and small groups (comprised of nine or less persons) are welcome to participate in our pre-scheduled Adventure Days. Reservations are required for these programs. $35 per person.

Fun on the Farm: Winter on the Farm
Thursday, December 9, 10:30am-noon
Heritage Farmstead Museum
Learn about life on a farm during the winter. Children ages 2-5 learn about themes through a story and a unique activity, enjoy a fun craft project and have a wagon ride. Fee includes one parent and one child. Space is limited. Registration will close end of business day the Wednesday before each program as long as there is still availability.
$11.00 includes adult and child, registration required.

December 9 – 18
Cats, featuring a score by Lloyd Webber and lyrics by T.S. Eliot, Trevor Nunn and Richard Stilgoe, ran for 21 years in London and 18 years on Broadway. It won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the tuner tells the story of the Jellicle cats and each cat’s individual quest to be selected as the lucky one who will ascend to “the Heaviside Layer.” Performed by our acclaimed REP Company actors.

Holidays at the Heard
Heard Museum, McKinney
December 10, 16 & 17, 6:30-9pm
Bundle up and experience Holidays at the Heard, the most unique holiday event in North Texas. Guests will see lights and holiday décor along a half mile Heard nature trail. In keeping with the Heard’s role as a nature preserve, this light display is designed to enhance, rather than overpower, the sanctuary’s natural beauty. Children and the young at heart will enjoy the opportunity to take a photo with Father Christmas and Mother Nature in a festive setting. Hot beverages and treats will be available for purchase. Family-friendly entertainment will complement the holiday atmosphere. Local musicians will delight audiences with live holiday music in the Heard outdoor amphitheater. Tickets will be available to the public beginning November 17.

Santa Run Texas

This event includes a 5K and 1 Mile Walk/Run and also holds a family and pet-friendly festival celebrating the holiday season. A 5-piece Santa Suit is even included with your registration! Come enjoy hot cocoa & coffee, live music, free food, Vendor Village, and Santa’s Playground, where kids and adults alike can visit Santa! There’s games and fun activities for everyone! Join the Sea of Santas! A fundraiser for My Possibilities, a full day, full year continuing program in Collin County aimed to give adults with cognitive disabilities the chance at a higher education that helps them discover their purpose.

Breakfast with Santa

Carpenter Park Recreation Center
Santa is making a special trip to Carpenter Park Recreation Center to eat breakfast with you and your family. While enjoying tasty breakfast treats, create your Santa wish list and holiday crafts. Little ones can enjoy some one-on-one time with Santa and receive a souvenir photo. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 10. All ages are welcome! The cost is $5 per family. Registration is required so please call Carpenter Park Recreation Center at 972-208-8087 to register.

A St. Andrew Christmas

St. Andrews United Methodist Church
This year’s concert is masterfully woven together by Texas playwright Steve McCurdy in a radio show-style broadcast, featuring the St. Andrew Chancel Choir, the Salt and Light Choir, a 45-member professional orchestra, the magnificent Létourneau pipe organ, and the ever-popular carol sing.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Recommended for ages 5 and up. Christmas time is here, and we’re fortunate that it brings Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang to DCT! Charles Schulz’s classic animated television special comes to life as you’ve never seen before. The young and the young at heart will be tapping their toes and oohing and ahhing as the live combo band surrounds the audience in a magical, memorable holiday spectacle.
